Most “clean” products show you an ingredient list. We think what matters is what actually reaches you. This page explains the emission testing, the molecules it found, and the claims we refuse to make.

We say it openly: the cited research looks at aroma, breathing and ritual in general — not Lio itself.
GC-MS (gas chromatography–mass spectrometry) is the standard lab method that separates a sample into its individual molecules and identifies each one. It doesn’t measure impressions — it measures molecules.
The difference with Lio is what was sent for analysis: the maker sent the emitted air — what you actually breathe — to an independent lab, not just the ingredient list.
Only the naturally occurring aroma molecules of the plants: menthol and menthone from peppermint, limonene from sweet orange, eucalyptol from eucalyptus and pinene from black pepper. Nothing else.
Just as important is what was NOT found: no nicotine, no tobacco — and, since nothing burns or heats, no combustion by-products.
Lio is solid wood with a plant-fibre core — no electronics, no heating element, no liquid. Only your breath moves the air through it, so there is no vapour, no lingering smell and nothing to charge.
That’s why you can use it anywhere: at the office, in a café, on a plane — without bothering anyone around you.
We say it openly: the research cited about aroma, breathing and ritual is general research — it is not research on Lio itself. When we talk about peppermint, citrus or eucalyptus, we are talking about the plants — not making promises.
Lio is not a medical device or a smoking-cessation therapy. It doesn’t diagnose, treat or cure anything. Individual experiences vary.
